Gobble Gobble!

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Tea Party Lane. A great day to look back and reflect on how much we have in the country and while we struggle with issues affecting our country, we still have a lot more than many!

Have a safe travel and a great time with your family and friends!

Americans hopeful for change (again)

November 23, 2010 - 8:12 pm No Comments

In an interesting poll, USA Today showed that the same amount of Americans want elected tea party leaders to make changes as voted for Obama.

This shows, in my opinion, regardless of the inflammatory nature of the media and the fights, that the basis for the tea party reformation is something that many Americans desire.

Despite this desire for change, there is a division on what should be done with the clearly defined issues.  This may be problematic as there could be gridlock in Congress as the elected try to understand what should be done in the best interest of the country.

Any Chance It Will Be a Re-New(ed) America?

Congratulations, Tea Party Brothers and Sisters!

Look at the miracle that has been achieved with the 2010 Elections. Concerned, caring, American citizens got together, stayed on course and made impossible, historic, changes happen!

This time, let’s not talk about the election results, or, what they mean for getting our country back on track and moving forward through the government. Instead, let’s just peruse for a few moments what possibilities are open for getting the common sense and pride back into America.

This is such an exciting achievement! Think about it – if the Tea Party model of awakened Americans and its passionate force were to be applied in other areas, we could:

  • Re-instill pride in achieving success. No more shame or apology for creating a business and applying hard work, dedication, honesty, integrity and creativity until wealth is achieved… No more allowing anyone to dictate who we share our money with or call us the “privileged class” if we did succeed in our goals…
  • Enjoy once again the traditions of our country. You know, like standing firm for saying Merry Christmas to all we meet and insisting that others can say it to us if they wish; reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in our schools and at public functions; winning in a team sport and being proud of it; engaging in healthy debate and expressing our opinions without worry that we’ll be declared impolitic when we disagree; insisting on EVERYONE having to follow the laws, not just those of us who were born in this country…

This list is waaaay too short, but I’ll bet you get the point.

We don’t have to return to apathy. Whatever drove millions of Americans to put our collective foot down and make the right things happen in the 2010 election is still inside each of us – so, what’s next?

Election Day!

Today is election day and we’re off to the polls!  Make sure that you vote while this is a mid-term election it’s as if not more important than the elections in 1994.

Already it seems that there will be a LOT of people at the polls.  So it will be an EXCITING DAY!
