In an interesting poll, USA Today showed that the same amount of Americans want elected tea party leaders to make changes as voted for Obama.

This shows, in my opinion, regardless of the inflammatory nature of the media and the fights, that the basis for the tea party reformation is something that many Americans desire.

Despite this desire for change, there is a division on what should be done with the clearly defined issues. This may be problematic as there could be gridlock in Congress as the elected try to understand what should be done in the best interest of the country.

Congratulations, Tea Party Brothers and Sisters!

Look at the miracle that has been achieved with the 2010 Elections. Concerned, caring, American citizens got together, stayed on course and made impossible, historic, changes happen!

This time, let’s not talk about the election results, or, what they mean for getting our country back on track and moving forward through the government. Instead, let’s just peruse for a few moments what possibilities are open for getting the common sense and pride back into America.

This is such an exciting achievement! Think about it – if the Tea Party model of awakened Americans and its passionate force were to be applied in other areas, we could:

Re-instill pride in achieving success. No more shame or apology for creating a business and applying hard work, dedication, honesty, integrity and creativity until wealth is achieved… No more allowing anyone to dictate who we share our money with or call us the “privileged class” if we did succeed in our goals…

Enjoy once again the traditions of our country. You know, like standing firm for saying Merry Christmas to all we meet and insisting that others can say it to us if they wish; reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in our schools and at public functions; winning in a team sport and being proud of it; engaging in healthy debate and expressing our opinions without worry that we’ll be declared impolitic when we disagree; insisting on EVERYONE having to follow the laws, not just those of us who were born in this country…

This list is waaaay too short, but I’ll bet you get the point.

We don’t have to return to apathy. Whatever drove millions of Americans to put our collective foot down and make the right things happen in the 2010 election is still inside each of us – so, what’s next?

In some areas, the tea party candidate is helping the competition as they take votes from a possible successful new candidate and split them.

However, in other areas the movement is continuing success.

As we get closer to the election we’ll see what happens as we look for change in our country.

It is my hope that in the months and years ahead, life will return almost to normal. We’ll go back to our lives and routines, and that is good. Even grief recedes with time and grace. But our resolve must not pass. Each of us will remember what happened that day, and to whom it happened. We’ll remember the moment the news came — where we were and what we were doing. Some will remember an image of a fire, or a story of rescue. Some will carry memories of a face and a voice gone forever.

Yippee! We now have only two months to go – are the pundits and pollsters right? Can the Tea Party and Republicans take over Congress?

Hey, this post won’t be deep and intellectual – I just want to celebrate and pontificate for a minute on what looks like a happy day a-coming… I’m glad to be an old Granny – I know that even one small step for mankind can be the beginning of everything. So I don’t really care if all the candidates and winners on our side are the most perfect… that the tides change is what matters most.

My favorite hobby is listening to Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and my favorites – Megyn Kelly and Greta Van Sustern. But it’s when Pat Caddell and Larry Sabato speak about what’s happening with the elections that my heart soars. They are sure that my dreams are coming true, so… I believe.

Good results won’t guarantee immediate solutions…

There will be battles galore after the election, and it does not seem possible that the Democratic leadership will change, making it difficult at best to see real progress made soon. Like any structure, however, having the strongest foundation gives you the best chance for a solid ‘building’. Battles aren’t necessarily productive ways to gain ground, but in the case of our Congress, a more even platform to wage war gives us a reason to keep working to get our country on course and a real chance to succeed at it.

What we CAN do is get out the vote!

Let’s get out and bring others to the polls. When we get the lawmakers America needs in Washington, we can all sit down and take a deep breath, then stand up and fight forward. Think about it – wouldn’t it be great to be working on getting jobs open, having healthcare changes that work for everyone, reducing the government to a support role – just to name a few sane goals?

The people that “know” are assuring us that it’s all going to be good, and the election results will make us happy… As for me, I believe in controlling my environment, so I’m going to leave this for now and go find some people to get out and vote my way
